Light cloud ....

25th February 2026 (Wednesday)     09.45 .... It's cloudy and dry at the moment, but there's a

chance of light rain, at any time throughout the day.    No mention of sunny spells;  but we might get lucky later in the afternoon.    I have to go to the Skeith Centre today sometime, so I'll have a wander roond 'The Store' when Anstruther.    No other activity planned for today.... yet.

15.30    The trip to the Skeith Centre was  actually quite a pleasant trip out (and a successful one);   the traffic was normal for the East Neuk nowadays, and the weather amenable.   There was some light rain when I was at the Skeith Centre, but it didn't last;  in fact it had passed over by the time I got to 'The Store'.   

Ah ...'The Store!   I went in for a browse and enjoyed myself going round the aisles.   The 'browse' cost me just over £59.    That included Fairy Washing liquid, and Dish Washer tablets;  both expensive items, that they were selling for much less than usual.   Of course, there could have been a couple of vital necessities that accidentally fell into the trolley.   Yes.... I enjoyed my wander round 'The Store.

Imagine having go listen to President Trump speaking for nearly one and three quarter hours (107 minutes)?   That was the length of his 'State of the Union' speech yesterday.   Everything in the USA is 'good', with America well on the way to being 'Great' again; MAGA hats are selling almost as fast as Fisher and Donaldson' Fudge Doughnuts!   

22.30    After a hectic morning I had a restful afternoon.   I thought about getting The Buggy out but it was spitting light rain when I went out, so that idea fizzled out. 

 I want to do a woollen wash but the weather forecast isn't promising;  Saturday looks like being the best day 'drying day' the last time I checked.   Tomorrow I intend going to Methil to visit Alice., and we'll go to the Wellesley Church Community Centre for lunch.   It will be a rest day.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
