Broken cloud and damp ....
9th February 2026 (Monday) 07.45 .... It's damp after overnight rain, but the sky, though
mostly cloudy is showing the promise of 'sunny spells' with light rain /showers. I'll have another cuppa then get of to Methil. Looking forward to getting my hearing aids.20.00 My hearing aids are amazing; I can hear with both ears; for the first time in many years. I can't believe the difference; I didn't think my hearing really bad.... but it is ... oops ... was!
The technician said that they weren't fully charged, and that I'd have to charge them sometime this afternoon. I managed to get the charger set up and plug the hearing aids into the charger. Getting the aids back in the lugs is a bit tricky but I'll get the hang o' that. It takes a week or two for the brain to accept the new hearing; but it does. Oh ....I nearly forgot; I don't have batteries to replace every so often, as the batteries are inside the aids and have to be recharged.... just like a mobile phone. I'm thinking that the the "villages are not going to quiet" anymore. Not in the noise sense anyway! I found out today that even the camera makes noise when I take a photie. I'm a happy boy tonight.
I see that the PM is having some bother, with talk of him being replaced. That would be a mistake. I know that I disagreed with him being overly friendly with President Trump, but he wasn't the only European Leader to try the friendly approach; and he has apologised for the Mandelson debacle. He should now be left to get on with the job of sorting out the UK. There's one politician in the UK that can't believe his luck; the Leader of the Reform Party! Mind you he is attracting MP's from the Conservative Party, so he might have his problems too, before the next General Election!
I really appreciated Alan (Alice's son in law) taking Alice and I to Kirkcaldy today; the journey home to Methil was especially enjoyable, because I could take part in a conversation! Alan has a great sense of humour, and I could enjoy it. "Thank You Alan" for taking us along to the Vic, and "Thank You Alice" for accompanying me.
Plan for tomorrow?.... I'll practice putting in, and taking out the hearing aids, a
times; but it depends on what the weather is doing as far as going 'out and about' goes. The Olympics is on BBC so I'll definitely be watching that at times.Today's photographs were all taken from ferry Road just to let you see that the weather has been like today.
