Light cloud .....

28th February 2026 (Saturday)     09.30 .... There's a chilly air this morning, but there's hardly

any wind, so very little in the way of windchill.    The weather forecast for KY9 is "light cloud with light showers";  so no woollen wash today.    I've only been as far as the gate;  but might make it as car as the car later in the day.   I'm feeling positive and expect 'sunny spells' between the light showers.   Oh .... I got out of bed at 07.15 this morning;  but was disappointed when I saw the grey sky;  I'd been thinking 'bright and sunny'.

16.30     I had a wander up to the phone box to get a few 'today' photographs;  and got lucky!  Barbara came out to do some gardening.... with Skye and Rhum her dogs.

It has been a bonnie, sunny day, but cold.   I thought about going out on 'The Buggy' but the air was too cold;  not a good day for being out.   There has been a lot of folk going up, and down' Ferry Road, so the villages are busy:  Ferry Road is anyway!

19.30    It appears that President Trump has (temporarily) given up on the Nobel Peace Prize;  having started the war that will bring Peace to the Middle East.   Beginning the war is the easy bit, it's the ending,  and the Peace bit that's difficult!   I really do hope that Peace comes at the end of this war: but, sadly, history isn't on the side of Peace in the Middle East.

I  enjoyed my short walk, but shouldn't have gone out in the cold air;  I end up coughing when I go back into the warm house again.   I'll eventually learn.   Anyway it's going to be warmer again by Monday.   Tuesday is going to be woollen wash day according to the weather forecast.   At the moment we have rain!   It's to be with us on and off through the night, and into tomorrow;  but there's a chance of sunny spells' in the afternoon.

I'm hoping to go to Leven and Methil tomorrow, but that depends on how I am;  and how the weather is.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
