Overcast with light rain .....

7th February 2026 (Saturday)    10.15 .... The weather is the same as it has been for the past

week so that takes care of the weather report.   What will I be doing?..... we have the Winter Olympics on BBC 2, so I'll be watching that on and off most of the day.    I might have a run round 'The Ferry' in the car later to see what happening, but it's not a day for being out.    This could be a good 'rest day'.   Oh... nearly forgot;  all the Fife Weather cams are showing 'overcast with rain'.

16.00   The rain stopped in the early afternoon, and we had a brighter spell of weather;  if fact we almost had a proper 'sunny spell'.    Hopefully this means a better spell of weather on the way.   I went up to the golf course, for a bit of exercise, and could see some blue(ish) sky towards the North.   

I've had a relaxing kind of day, watching the Olympics Curling on (BBC2).   Team GB won both their games today, beating Canada in the morning, and the USA in the afternoon..  In fact Team GB is the only that has won all it's games.   

I don't watch TV all the time;  I sorted out yesterday's photographs:  that was a big job.  and I notice dthat I need a new television;  the screen on the present one has four light patches on it.   

20.00    I thought we were going to get a change in the weather when the afternoon brightened up;  do much do that I actually spotted some blue sky.... and a short sunny spell'.     There's a change on right enough;  we have a Weather Warning  (possible) for heavy rain overnight.    There's me thinking that this bleak weather was coming to an end.    Light rain is forecast for tomorrow..... with the chance of 'sunny spells'.

I'm going to make the Horlicks.   I need an early night in bed after a late night last night.    I didn't get

into bed until after midnight.    My afternoon siesta lasted longer than usual:  I woke up watching something from Italy called 'Slopestyle':  not my favourite 'Sport',  but it does takes skill and nerve that's for sure.  I like traditional skiing and snow boarding:   I do that on the Wii fit.   But I have to move with the times and 'Slopestyle'  etc. is moving with the times'.

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
