Bright er morning.....

8th February 2026 (Sunday)   11.45 .... We have a 'lovely morning:  it's not windy and wet! 


 Mind you; when I see how much rain there has been other places, what we've had has been a bit of 'dampness'.   That said it's good to see the sun, even if it is only in short spells;  and there' only a light breeze (E) so this is a 'play day'.

I started my morning with a good sleep in and didn't extricate myself from bed until 08.45.   By the time I'd showered, had breakfast, and checked the News, it was nearly 10.00.   

It's great to get out with the camera again;  I've been down to the harbour (in the car) and have a batch of local photies to 'play' with this evening.   I am a 'happy boy'.  The villages are busy!  Down at the harbour holidaymakers were wandering around like it was summer.    Compared to the weather we've had this is 'like summer';  or would be if it was warmer.    As you can see from the photo one of the skiffs was out for a bit of practice. Its now late morning coffee time.

19.15     I have a '"light flap on" tomorrow;   I'm being issued with my new hearing aids.    The 'plan is for me to be at Alice's for 08.30, then Alan will tack us to the Vic for 09.30.     It's all quite exciting..... I might be able to have a conversation without saying "pardon";  as long as I remember to wear them hearing aids.   I must admit I seriously need them now.

The weather has turned wet again;  in fact 'light rain with a gentle breeze, is forecast for tomorrow;  but there's the chance of sunny spells.    I'm going to get my gear organised for tomorrow.   

Team GB v Italy is on TV just now so I'm off to watch that match:  we lost against Switzerland earlier today.   This will be my last update for today as I'm going to bed early;  don't want to sleep in tomorrow morning.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
