Lovely day ....

13th February 2026 (Friday)     18.45    Apologies for being late with 'The Hutte' this mor ... er

.... evening.   I have had a busy day.     Alice was coming so I thought I'd better go round wi' the 'Hoover'.   The I spotted some dust on the TV cabinet;  but being a clever boy I thought I'd close the thermal curtains, to keep the heat 'in'.... and forget about the dusting.   We were going to have a 'picnic';  an indoor picnic, that Alice was bringing with her.

Oh .... we woke up to a wintry looking morning;  and a cold one because the snow/sleet had frozen on the car windscreen.   I fed the two 'Blobs' (they are both boys so start fechtin' as doon as they see each other) so I feed one at the back door and the other at the front door.

Alice arrived about 11. 20, by which time I was organised and had the kettle 'on'.   By this time the sun was up and we had a lovely morning, albeit a cauld one.    We had a cuppa, and blether, then watched some Olympics before having our 'picnic' lunch.   Alice had prepared everything before coming along, and my word it was tasty:  Marks and Spencer rolls etc.... and Tiramisu!

After lunch we watched the Olympics and chatted!   Remember the thermal curtains that I was going to close before Alice arrived? ..... I didn't!    The sun was bright and hitting the TV cabinet and lighting up and even magnifying a small amount of dust. slight.   "The best laid schemes o' mice, men and Alberto" (Robert Burns) gang aft agley right enough!

In took Alice along to Elie to catch the 14.30 bus to Leven.   We were early at the Bus Stop and read  all about the Toll Green by the History Society researchers.   It's an interesting bus shelter is the Elie bus shelter..

21.30     The '95' bus arrived on time and Alice was on her way to Leven;  and I set off for Ivy via the Elie road then ferry Road.    I wasn't in Ivy more than a minute when the doorbell rang..... and I can hear it loud and clear now.   It was Shona, so I had company for a my afternoon cuppa.    Shona had been taking photographs of the wave damaged wall at Chapel Green.   I'll need to get some for the Alberto Archive:  I might do that tomorrow.

Today I had a three way conversation at the gate, with Alistair (next door neighbour) and his  Dad.   We

chatted for a good few minutes without me missing a word;  and I had completely forgotten the hearing aids.  They are absolutely marvellous .... and I am  getting used to them.

Tomorrow is to be 'bright and sunny, but awfie cauld, with a light breeze from the SW.   So a change of wind direction at last.

Today's photies:  Top - touch of winter on the golf course;  ir was too cauld for me to go up there!   Middle and bottom photos - both taken from he Elie bus stop.
