Nice morning ....
19th February 2026 (Thursday) 11.00 .... There's a feel of Spring in the air this morning;
there;'s a light Se breeze and it's considerably warmer than it has been. Not only is there a feel of Spring in the air; I feel almost as frolicsome as a Spring lamb. Feeling positive, I've hung out a washing; there could be light showers in the afternoon, but as I said, I'm feeling positive so the showers will miss us! Iain is coming down tomorrow so I'd better sort out his bed; at the moment it looks like a shelf!.... could be some interesting stuff there! Slight 'Flap On' ..... but not until I've had my morning coffee.19.00 .... I've had a busy day, and enjoyable day. We never had any rain so the washing the washing was near enough dry when J brought it in. It is now ironed and airing in front of a radiator. Iain' bed isn't made up yet, but he's happy to do that when he arrives: I might get it done in the morning. I got diverted! .... GB Girls Curling Team were playing today, so I had to watch them. And the Nordic Men's skiing spring was also on so I had to keep an eye on that.
The weather was kind today; bonnier and warmer in the morning, but, even though there were more shower clouds around they missed us. I thought about going out on 'The Buggy' in the afternoon, but the Olympic won! And it was colder by then anyway!
The local Sparrow Hawk seems to be doing well; I found the feathers of blackbird this morning. That's a Wood Pigeon, and a Blackbird it has caught in my garden.
Apart from sorting out Iain's bed I don't have a'plan' for tomorrow. Mind you, at the speed I 'work at now, sorting the bed could take all day. We'e forecast to have 'light rain with a moderate SW breeze in the morning, but it might brighten up in the afternoon.
22.00 My word the GB Men's Curling Team are in the Final! I'm a '"bag o' nerves", but a happy "bag o'nerves". I think the final is on Saturday evening!..... I should have calmed down by then!
What other News has there been today? Oh aye: Andrew Mountbatten - Windsor was arrested! It's
a sad and stressful time for our Royal Family. It's almost unbelievable! But it most certainly is a cracker of a birthday surprise!I see that it's raining, and it will be with us all night and tomorrow morning. Never mind,; I've got the Olympics.... and Iain's bed to sort out that will keep me occupied!
Today's photographs: You have probably guessed that I wasn't out with the camera today! Top photo - Blue Tailed Damselfly on Barnyards Marsh. Middle photo - the Den Burn, Balcarres. and Bottom - Ivy rose.
