Cold ENE wind .....
12th February 2026 (Thursday) 10.00 .... We have a cold and damp start to the morning, but
there are blue patches in the sky so we should have sunny spells..... but it's much colder than it has been of late. In fact a cold spell is forecast with the chance of snow and ice tomorrow morning.I haven't been further than the front gate, and there's not much to see there ... looking North. I might go out in the car later, but I'm going to wash the bath room, kitchen and lobby floors before having morning coffee. That will be my 'work' for today. That job is 'hard work' now.
20.30 It has been a nice day, albeit cold with the occasional shower, but brighter than recent days. I eventually got the floors washed; and that was me finished with work for the day. Oh... I was watching the modern skiing' race, the Moguls' at the Winter Olympics for a while this after noon. I'm not particularly keen on this kind of skiing, but it takes a lot of skill, and courage, to do this 'Mogul' thing. I wonder what it's doing to the knees and hips in the long run? Their knees ,and hips, are working at some rate.
Irene and Andrew, neighbours from Earlsferry High Street, have decided to move South to be with their family. Irene is an Earlsferry girl, and was in the same class at school as Maggie. This is a huge step for Irene and Andrew to take, but I'm sure they will be as well liked down South, as they are here (and that's a lot!) and will soon fit in to the local community. Irene came round today, to let me know that they are leaving the 'Royal Burgh': but, no matter where they are, there's something about 'The Royal Burgh' .... it gets into your heart.... sort of like 'falling in love'. They aren't leaving for a while, but I thought they should know, that when Irene ans Andrew do go South, they won't be alone; the 'love' of Earlsferry folk.... and the Elie folk, will be travelling south with you.
The Men's skeleton competition came on in the afternoon, so I had to watch that: Matt Weston
(photograph courtesy BBC2) of GB is leading at the halfway stage.22.30 It is cold out tonight, in fact it could be frosty, with sleet showers in the morning, but should be bright and sunny in the afternoon. Alice is coming along in the morning, so I'd better run round with the 'oover!
