Nice morning ....

25th February 2025 (Tuesday)     09.00 .... It's a nice morning, and the weather forecast is

good...."sunny intervals with a moderate SW breeze"..... but it is not overly warm in said breeze.   I'm going to Leven and Methil.   I need a new pail, and Alice needs a colour chart;   plus any other shopping we want to do.  After the shopping, we are going to the local Kirk (Wellesley) Community Centre for lunch. 

22.30    My trip to Leven and Methil was a complete success;  in fact it was better than that.... I bought two pails  because they were only a £1!   There was only one colour and that was orange;  had they been green I might have bought 4 and converted them into wee tubs for the patio.   From B n Q's we went to B and M's to buy a few other bits and pieces before heading back to Alice's HQ,  and thence to lunch at the Community Centre.    The Mother's and Toddlers Group were having lunch so it was slightly noisier than usual, but it was good seeing bairns ;  a change from nothing but ol ... oops .... mature people!

After a coffee at Alice's I meandered my way back to Ivy,  arriving there about 14.30.   I made a cuppa, fell asleep, then made a fresh one when I woke up.   After that, being in 'action boy' mode, I decided to have a daunder to the beach.    However that plan was amended when I decided it was ower cauld, and only went as far as the Ferry High Street!   As you can see from the photos it was fairly late in the afternoon.

I think I'll have a 'quiet' day pottering around Ivy tomorrow.    I'll do some more 'Spring Cleaning' ,because that's relaxing.... and I bought some kind o' bathroom cleaner that I want to 'play' with.    It's bedtime!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
