Windy and wet ....

23rd February 2025 (Sunday)     08.00 .... It's windy (F5 S) just now, and heavy rain is

due shortly so not a very promising start to Sunday.   I'm going to get the paper shortly;  it will be wild and cold at the harbour so I don't think I'll venture down there.    The wind is freshening, but should moderate in the afternoon and we could end the day with 'sunny spells'!

16. 00    It has been a windy day with occasional rain, so not quite as bad  as was forecast.   I went for the papers in the morning, and then to 'The Store' (Anstruther), and finally home by way of  Balbuthie Loan and Kinneuchar.   'The Store' was a 'change of plan', but I decided to do some shopping before the rain came.   As it was the only time the rain bothered me was when putting the messages into the car boot at 'The Store.   Since then I have been  having a lazy day.   Luckily we've had the Six Nations Rugby this weekend;  Wales v Ireland and the England v Scotland game yesterday.   The England v Scotland game was really exciting.   This afternoon we have Italy v France.... at the moment it's half time.

19.00   I've just been putting the bin out (broon) and we have a lovely evening, with a lovely night the ahead;  both to be followed by a lovely day tomorrow.   I'm in 'lovely' mood tonight!    With Monday forecast to be a good drying day I'm going to do a woollen wash.   It's to be "sunny with a fresh SW breeze";  it will be bonnie but cool in the wind.

22.00   This is something I forgot to mention yesterday.   When driving through Lundin Links (near the Old Manor) a Wood Pigeon  confirmed, something that I've suspected for years;  that Wood Pigeons are the stupidest of birds when it comes to how dangerous moving vehicles are!   (They are closely followed by Pheasants)!   I was bumbling along, (it is a 20 mph speed limit so I'd be doing about 18 mph), when this pigeon landed  three metres in front of the car;  I couldn't avoid hitting it, but when I glanced in the mirror I saw a few feathers but no pigeon, so I think must have used up another one of, for Wood Pigeons, its 100 lives.    If it did get away, I hope it's a wiser pigeon now!

The 'plan' for tomorrow is to get up early and do woollen wash;  the forecast is good so the jerseys
should dry on the line.   I might clean the windows if it isn't too windy .... and cold, out in the open.

It's time to make the Horlicks .... and catch up with the 'News'.   Most of the News concerns the good old US of A nowadays;  and that is really worrying.
In one of his recent rants President Trump called President Zelensky a dictator.  Actually, when you think about it, President Trump, though democratically elected, is acting very much like a dictator now!   No wonder I worry about the future of our Planet!
