Promising looking sky .....
14th February 2025 (Friday) (St Valentine's Day) "Happy St Valentine's Day" to all
'girlfriends' far and near".09.45 .... Although the sky is mostly cloudy, there are lots of paler areas! .... and the forecast for our area is.... 35 second delay .... is ....5 second delay ..... "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze". Bring on the sunny intervals! London and Uckfield (Sussex) have the same forecast; Ellon slightly cloudier. Unfortunately the breeze is from The ESE so still very cold! However is should veer towards the SSE later. I have no plan to go out today; I want to shake off the hoarseness.... and going out in this kind of wind is not the way to do that!
19.00 The weather turned quite pleasant in the afternoon, so I had a 'walk' up to the golf course. It was very quiet, with only three people, (a single and a couple) in sight (on the seventeenth) .... and no dog walkers. The wind had dropped so it wasn't as cold as it had been earlier; and certainly not nearly as cold as it is now. Yes; I've been oot at the bucket and the air feels frosty. I know I had 'planned' to stay in and get rid of the cough, but I couldn't resist the benign afternoon.
The workmen were making the new roof extension at No 3 watertight; it's amazing how fast they are getting on with the job. I can hardly keep up.... and I'm only using the camera! Got to get the photographs for the Albert Archive..... and the 'Hutte'!
As you can see from the photo, there will (eventually) be one cracker of a view of the golf course!.... and vehicles coming down Ferry Road. Actually, there's a bonnie view of the course from the floor below.
22.30 I have no 'plan' for tomorrow; everything depends on the weather and how I'm feeling. At the moment I'm feeling tired and ready for bed (after the bedtime Horlicks). I've been watching a programme about two American B52 bombers that crashed in the 1960's with their bomb loads: one in Spain and the other near Thule (Greenland). Declassified documents showed the 'cover ups' that went on. One of the Thule bombs was never recovered.
