Overcast with light rain ....

4th February 2025 (Tuesday)    08.30 .... We have a dreich morning at Elie and Earlsferry, but

we are going to get sunny spells in the afternoon.  It is going to be sunny and colder tomorrow:  in fact we're to have a few days of sunny and cold weather, beginning with Wednesday.  Today is a computer day;  tomorrow washing day!

20.30    The sunny spells duly arrived, later in the afternoon, and I meandered down to the beach.   I've enjoyed longer spell of sunshine, buy...hey ho ... it was braw to be out;   even though it wasn't the most cheerful looking beach at the time.    I liked the ominous look of the sky.   As you can see in the photo.    That was my afternoon exercise.

I took the car along to the garage as per plan, where Ryan twiddled something that it  (the car) liked.  After chatting to Ryan, I went to Methil to see Alice.   She was was busy working on a project;  but stopped to put the kettle on.   During the course of the conversation while chatting, we decided to go to The nearby Wellesley Community Hall (part of the Wellesley Kirk complex) to have lunch.   I

It's quite amazing what they have on the menu;  obviously the  lady Cook(s) had worked professionally with food preparation, because it is run just like a proper restaurant kitchen.   We both had half portions of Fish n' Chips.   One lady had a full portion and I certainly couldn't have coped with that.   Being as Alice is on a diet (diabetic) we didn't have sweet.   I asked our Waitress if she knew Brian MacDougal  (former Head Waiter a the Craw's, who lives in Leven):  and she did, but didn't know how he was 'cos she hadn't seen him for a while.   The reason our waitress knew the Craw's Nest was because ,Jessie Gardner (Cellardyke) was a relation.  It's a small world.

I contacted a couple of Roofer firms to get an estimate for slight bit of storm damage at Ivy.   I don't think there's any waiter getting in so the job isn't urgent.   Roofing firms are 'up to the eyeballs' in work after the damage caused by Storm Eowyn last week.    Now that that that is in hand, my stress levels should begin to fall soon.
