Warm but cloudy ....

15th January 2025 (Wednesday)     08.45 ..... we have a mostly cloudy but start to Wednesday,

but the forecast is;  'sunny with a moderate breeze', so a nice day  once the sun gets going.   The first thing I noticed, when out feeding 'Blob' at 07.30, was how warm the it was!   It feels like a balmy Spring morning!  In fact, I might take a turn round The Ferry on the bike later.

11.45   The sky has cleared to give us a bright and breezy day.   In fact the breeze is...well ... more of a wind than a breeze, so there's a bit of wind chill.  That said it's a nice day (a braw drying day) and I might get the bike out after lunch.  

 I've been to the Surgery to hand in the result of the hearing test I had the other day;  all I do now is await the Doctor's decision as to whether I need a hearing aid, or not.   If the answer is 'yes' I'll probably have to go to the House of Hearing (St Andrews) for the 'main' hearing test!   

20.00   I woke up after my afternoon 'kip' to fund that West side of Ferry Road had a row of 'No Parking' cones in place.  This will be to allow the workmen to remove the roof of the flat (No 3) at 'Courtyard'...as part of the alterations that are to take place. There are a couple of 'spaces 'at the bottom, so I have moved my car.   I won't have to go far for 'action' photographs while they remove the auld roof and put up the new roof-space extension.!  Exciting times at Ferry Road.

After delivering the letter to the Surgery I went out to Woodhaven to take 'todays' photos.   The first thing that caught my eye was the 'High Vis' jacket.   I don't know what they were surveying;  might have been the sand dunes.  'Aspect' is written on the back of the jacket.  

22.30   Kirsty, Myra and I are going to the revamped 19th Hole for lunch tomorrow.   George who normally would be with us, is unwell and unable to be there this time;  hopefully he will be fit and well for for the next.
 


Finally, for all of you who have been wondering what happened to our platform 'Ocean Valiant'. I have Barbara to thank for for the photo (lessentiel.lu) and information (Paul Hancock), she found while on holiday.   "Thank You Barbara". xx
'Ocean Valiant' is on her way to Turkey to be scrapped.   I've found her tug 'Maersk Tracer' on Marine Traffic (Mediterranean)  and will be able to follow Ocean Valiant when then get her off the beach!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
