Quiet morning .....

20th January 2025 (Monday)    08.00.... It's cloudy just now but 'sunny intervals with a gentle

breeze' is the weather forecast for our area.   At the moment there is only a light  breeze, and the air is cool but not frosty.   I'm ready to go to the dentist, or will be after I have breakfast and an early morning coffee.   My appointment is at 09.30 and I'm hoping the sun is up by then:  the 'plan' is to get some photos of Anstruther harbour etc.  It's breakfast time.

11.45    Everything went perfectly at the Dentist;  and, although the work half an hour, it was never uncomfortable.   However, by the time I was back at the car the wind had freshened and it was cold, so I  modified my action plan for the camera;  I only walked out on the Middle Pier.  Unfortunately the sun was behind clouds, so Anstruther wasn't as I'd hoped it would be!  That said.... I'm happy with what I got; and I can always go back on a bonnier day.

15.45    The sun broke through in the afternoon and we ended with a bonnie day.... but with a cold breeze.  I spent most of the afternoon sleeping in front of the tele:  the only reason I put it on is because I know that, in most cases it will bore me to sleep.   I had the TV on the BBC news, which was mostly covering the President Trumps inauguration,  so I had no problem falling asleep.   

I phoned the Surgery re the hearing test I result I handed in last week: 'No further action required' is the result.  I thought my hearing was bad!   Silly boy.


21.30    I've caught up with inauguration  Ceremony on the News;  it's been 'on' all day.   He came across as less outrageous than the last time he was inaugurated (sounds sair) bit still manages to look like the playground bully.   I can't say that I was impressed with American style 'pomp and pageantry';  it lacked something.   Probably 'pomp and pageantry'.    Anyway, President Trump and his rich friends have their hands on the American reins of power.   And they are going to make America Great again.  Again?

I seem to think I had something I needed to do tomorrow but I can't think what it was.   I'll sleep on it

and  hope to remember what it was in the morning.   It's going to be another nice, but cool, day tomorrow.... so I might go somewhere with the camera, if it isn't too cauld.   The again I might remember what it was I intended doing!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
