Early frost .....

 08.00 .... The car windscreen has a hard layer of ice (-2C), so I'm not going to the harbour for sunrise.   I am not in a windscreen scraping mood!   (The cold air has clobbered the breathing).   

At the moment we have a lot of cloud, and sunrise will be short lived .... with the sun coming over the horizon, then disappearing behind the clouds.   It's quite misty and damp too, so not the bonniest of starts to the morning.  

 According to the forecast we can look forward to 'sunny intervals', but they can be hit or miss;  a bit like yesterday's weather.   At the moment it's a 'stay in and stay warm day' for me. 

09.45    I've been for the paper... and visited the harbour!  You can see from the above photo that we have a gloomy start to Sunday, but it should brighten up by midday.   It's not a 'drying day (at least not just now) but I have washing to hang out anyway.   I don't expect it to dry.... unless the sun really does get going.   It's early morning coffee time.

15.00    It's coming up to afternoon coffee time on what has been a mostly grey day.   We have had a 'brighter spell' but nothing in the way of sunshine.   I went to the beach after 'early mornin coffee', but only as far as Nana's Seat'.   The skiffs were out on the bay, 'Bold Ventures' (creel boat) was further out;  and walkers were on the beach, with and without dogs.  I didn't expect to se so much activity because;  well... it's not the warmest of days.


22.45   I have the dentist at 09.30 tomorrow morning;  a filling with  expensive stuff that should last 20 years.   It's costing £167 so I'll want my 20 years worth!    And I'm hoping it's a brighter day so that I cane get some decent photos of Ainster for a change of scene!    I've checked the forecast and it's to be sunny with a moderate breeze.   That's good;  it means the washing I hung out this morning (and forgot about) will dry, because I don't think it would have dried today.   And ... I am not going out to see whether it did or not dry!
I should be flappin' because I have the dentist first thing in the morning but I'll get up early and not
bother about the sunrise from the beach.  

Finally for today:  It will be 'all change' with American politics tomorrow after President Trump and his team get their hands on the reins of Power.   Interesting times ahead!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
