Bonnie morrrrrrrrrrrrning ....

7th January 2025 (Tuesday)    09.15 ....We had a bonnie sunrise this morning, with a lot of blue

sky and a touch of early morning frost.... a perfect morning for walking dogs.   Of course, dogs think every morning is a perfect morning for taking their owners  for a walk!

I've only been as far as the gate but will venture further after breakfast.   It looks like being a good drying day so there's a washing going through the machine.

16.30    It has been a bonnie, albeit  cold day.  Having said that, I went to Lorraine's to have my haircut, so that has probably made me feel colder roond the lugs.

I came home by Balbuthie and Kinneuchar to give the car a run.  I noticed that the Lomond hills (also known as the Paps o' Fife) are very wintry looking with a good covering of snow.    Largo Law looks a bit whiter too, so winter has arrived.   We're lucky compared with the problems they're having with flooding in England.

At long last I have decided to have my hearing tested.   The original test has to be done privately (Boots or Specsavers) and costs £50.   I'm going to Specsavers in Leven tomorrow.

20.00    Alice phoned to tell me that there was a programme about Culross on BBC 2 so I've been watching that.  Very interesting it was too.   I've been to Culross many times, so enjoyed the memories that this programme brought back.

Fife Countryside and Coast has reported that several swans have died from 'bird flu' at Birnie and Gaddon lochs.   It's only a couple of years since the Bass Rock gannets were decimated by bird flu:  actually they might be lucky this time because they have moved away for the winter.   Anyway we are advised to not touch sick birds.   Shona  ('LJ' Ice Cream) has put up information on Elie and Earlsferry chat!
