Bright and breezy .....

4th July 2024 (Thursday)     "Happy Independence Day to all my friends in the US of A". 08.45 .... welll....  it's bright and breezy with the chance of blustery showers later.    At the moment the wind is around F4, but is forecast to freshen to F7 - 8 in the middle of the day.... and there's a good chance of blustery showers.   Not a day for this ' auld boy' gaun oot on the bike!   The air feels more  like Autumn than the middle o' of summer.

Overcast with occasional drizzle ....

3rd July 2024 (Wednesday)     09.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing grey and misty; with only the St Andrews cam showing a bit of blue sky (that cam points North).   The cloud should break up in the afternoon to give us a 'sunny spells' evening.   Stage 5 of  'The Tour' will be sunny so I'll enjoy the South of France. 13.00   I wrote today's morning update at 08.45.... then forgot to upload it.   Sorry aboot that.   Since then I have been to Leven, and Alice's for 'morning tea'.   The Bawbee Brig is 'open' .... but there are  temporary traffic lights at Scoonie roundabout (again).    Oh .... the sun is trying hard to break through!.... we might have a bonnie afternoon. 19.00   Mark Cavendish did it!   What did he do?   He finally broke the record for the most Stages won competing in the Tour de Franc.   He had been tied on 34 stage wins with Eddy Merckx (Belgian) for the past couple of years.   Other than the scenery, most of th

2nd July 2024 (Tuesday)    09.15 .... I was expecting a bit of the "sunny and warm" weather but at 'The Paddocks' building site - Colinsburgh. the moment we have the "overcast, with the chance of sunny spells and light rain shower later" kind.   Disappointing I suppose... but there's very little wind so it's a quiet (apart from the workmen down in Ferry Wynd) peaceful morning.   Ferry Road is 'Closed';  and nothing happening around the 'ole.   I'm going to take a turn roond the Ferry on the bike after an 'early morning coffee'.... and before any light showers that might come our way.   None of the Fife Weather cams are showing any 'bloo' bits in the sky! 10.30   The run roond the Ferry, on the bike, has been put on hold until the sunny spells arrive;  could be after lunch time going by the look of the sky.   I might have a turn round the villages in the car.   At the moment the kettle is 'on'.    20.30    I&#

1st July 2024 (Monday)   09.00 .... All the Fife weather cams show misty, which means the weather at the Peaceful Ferry Road - 07.45. camera site is the same as we've got... overcast with light rain.   It is not a bonnie start to the day but the sun should breakthrough in the afternoon to give us the kind of weather we expect in July.  I'll get the bike out in the evening.  Stage 3 of the 'Tour de France' will have my attention in the afternoon. 11.30    The workmen (Clancy) arrived about 08.30 and have been in action ever since.   The roads has been 'Closed' to traffic as they are digging a trench across the road.   Although it's wet (drizzle/light rain) the sky is showing signs of breaking up;  we might have sunny spells earlier than forecast. 16.30    The Clancy workmen have worked well today;  they dug the trench (with a mini digger) across to the East side of the road where the trench became a hole big enough to work in.   It looks to me that the job
