Sunny and warm ....
29th May 2026 (Friday) 11.15 ..... It's a lovely morning and Ferry Road had been busy; mostly
because there's crane working at the West End of Ferry High Street. When I set off to go to Elie I went up the High Street, making for Chapel Green, but had to reverse into Cadger's Wynd and drive (the wrong way) back down the High Street. Anyway, I eventually reached Elie, handed in a prescription, then went to the 'paper shop'; Elie was busy! I came back via St Ford, and found temporary traffic lights at the former farm cottages; but, if the road is clear, they change automatically, so I didn't have to wait! It's all go around Elie and Earlsferry this morning. I need a cuppa!17.15 Iain arrived at 11.15 (ish) ; so we had a cuppa and came up with a plan for today. We would go to Sainsbury's after lunch to do the shopping. In the meantime, after morning coffee Iain went up to Chapel green to see if there were any insects active. The sun was going in and out behind clouds, and there was a frisky breeze so it wasn't the best kind of day for insects flying, but he got a few.
The main 'plan' for the weekend is to get the bedrooms sorted out, for Janice and Michael coming for a break from a 'sunny and hot Sussex. That will done tomorrow. The main job is moving the computer from one bedroom to the other.... and cleaning the windows.
21.30 We have a bonnie evening, in fact I'd say it was the best bit of the day; the wind has moderated, but it's still breezy ,so will be cool. On our tip to Leven to do the shopping we had drizzle on the windscreen a couple of times. The second time might have been caused by water being sprayed on to a crop. The first was definitely drizzle. because we were under a dark cloud at the time.
Iain brought my 'new' phone, so I have a new 'toy to play with. I phoned my house phone from themobile and that worked so I'm happy. I must take a few photographs with it tomorrow, so I'm hoping to take time off' working' to do that. There's a chance the we could have 'light rain' tomorrow; that's the kind of change we get with a Westerly wind.
Today's photies: Top - when I downloaded today's photies to look at them, I realised the lady crossing the high Street is Myra! And she is on a mission. Middle - a colourful van on Elie High Street, and Bottom - a 'Green/bluebottle'; he is a colourful boy, and we now know that know that 'bluebottles ' are' hairy'. Photo by Iain.(Lawrie).
