Overcast and misty .....

21st July 2025 (Monday)     07.15 .... After overnight rain, we now have a heavy mist with drizzle

blowing in a light Easterly breeze;  it is not a bonnie start to Monday.   However it is going to improve soon, with the weather forecast being .... (stupid 22 second delay) .... "light rain showers with a gentle breeze (E)".  We should have sunny spells between the showers;   and interesting clouds because thunder is possible in the afternoon.

13.30    I took time out from the 'ooverin' and dustin' to go 'roond the Ferry'  on the scooter this morning;  there's a chance o' thundery showers in the afternoon, which is when I'd intended going.   Anyway I enjoyed going round the Ferry, at walking speed, in comfort.   Sometimes I set her (she needs a name) going at (slow) jogging speed.   It's well sprung, and can cope with uneven road surfaces (of which we have many) 'nae bother'.   It was comfortably cool on the scooter, but it's becoming uncomfortably hot now.   

19.30    I've had a lovely afternoon catching up with Ethel, Doug and Alan;  it's amazing how stimulating conversation can be.   It was like stepping back in time in some ways, because of the memories that all came back.   They are enjoying their holiday in Elie and Earlsferry.    And the weather has been kind today;  well up until 15 minutes ago when a heavy shower came over  It was too hot in the afternoon to sit outside.   And too wet now.
Thunderstorms have been scattered all over the UK today, including Fife (Lochgelly).   I brought in the washing                                                                                                         about 20 minutes before the rain began.

22.45    I've had a really enjoyable day, but my word I'm tired tonight.   I've slept on and off most of the evening.   Anyway I've had the Horlicks and will get off to bed.   I'm hoping for the air to be cooler than it was last night;  and a good night's sleep tonight.   
No 'plan' for tomorrow;  everything depends on what the weather is doing.   'Light rain with a moderate
breeze (W)' is the forecast' .... not what I was wanting.    I was hoping to go out on the scooter in the morning but it seems the weather will put a stop to that 'plan'.   Got 'ousework to finish.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
