Overcast and damp ....

22nd July 2025 (Tuesday)     08.15 .... It's a damp morning, with light rain forecast;  but it's warm,

and Elie and Earlsferry is bonnie no matter what kind of weather we have.   And the sky might well brighten up,  to give us sunny spells.

I must have been tired last night.   It's a while since I had an unbroken night's sleep;  I went to bed just before 23.00, and didn't wake up until 05.45.

11.30     It's a lovely day now;  warm and sunny, with a nice Westerly breeze to dry the washing I have on the line.   If the weather stays as it is I should get the last of the bedding washed (and out) in the afternoon.   I'm a happy boy!   Being busy I haven't had time to 'go out to play' but I might get the bike out after morning coffee;  but won't be going far because I'm keeping an eye on the weather.

20.30   We've had a lovely day;  a bit too hot in the afternoon, but perfect for drying all the washing I want to do.   It didn't have to be done today, but I took the chance of, what turned into, the 'perfect drying day'.

As you can see from the top photograph it's the butterfly season... and a perfect day for being a butterfly.   I saw a few Red Admirals and a lot of Large Whites.   If I hadn't been 'otherwise engaged' ('ousework etc.) I might have gone up to Shell Bay woods to see if there the Speckled Woods  have established a colony there.   As it was I am happy that I got the bedding done.   I pick Michael and Janice up at Leven Station tomorrow afternoon.

Going by how busy Ferry Road was today with traffic, and holidaymakers walking up and down the road, the villages will are busy.   I imagine that the beach would have been popular in the (hot) afternoon.

21.45    Ethel brought some family photographs that Helen (my cousins) had come across.   So the two bottom photographs are of my sister Janet and two brothers Alan and Brian.   Both are school photos taken .... er .... not yesterday.

I'm starting to feel frisky now that the air has cooled:  I have to be honest I am totally useless  when it's hot nowadays;  and beginning realise that I do need the mobility scooter.   That reminds me;  the mobility scooter 'shed' is being delivered on Thursday.   I say 'shed' ;  it's more like a big old fashioned coal bunker.   When I think about it; we had an old fashioned coal bunker at Ivy... so they can't be that 'old fashioned'.

The temperature got up to 25.2C in the afternoon.... no wonder I felt hot... and that was inside Ivy.

Alan and Brian.
We're to have slightly cooler weather tomorrow;  "light clouds with light winds and a low chance of precipitation".   I fancy sunny spells at some point.   The 'plan' is to 'oover and dust Janice and Michael's bedroom.... and perhaps make up the bed.   Depends on how hot it is in the middle of the day.
