Nice morning ....

29th July 2025 (Tuesday)     08.30 .... There's a nice touch of autumn in the early morning air, but

it will warm up quickly once the sun is higher.     "Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze" is the forecast, the breeze eventually coming form the Southeast.   It will be warm, maybe even hot in the afternoon.    Apart from going to 'The Ship' for lunch, I don't know what the 'plan' is re 'working'.   I have bits to 'touch up' with paint;  I'll do that. once the sun is up, and shining into the patio to dry the paint.

19.30    It has been a lovely day;  it was hot in the afternoon, but bearable.   We more or less finished off the mobility scooter 'shed', and ready to be moved into position.   One or two last minute bits to finish off but that can be done tomorrow.

As planned we went to the 'Ship Inn' for lunch.   It was quiet at first, but became really busy by the time we were leaving.    As is normal for me when I go out for lunch' , I had 'Fish 'n Chips.   Michael had Cullen skink for a starter.   The Ship Inn Cullen skink is absolutely brilliant;  and almost a Main Course on it's own.    Janice had a huge 'Burger';  it looked really tasty.   Janice and I had Pannacota for dessert.   As ever the food was excellent, and we were well content when we walked up Admiralty Lane to the car, parked at Wadeslea.   I enjoyed the short walk from 'The Ship' to the car, but was struggling by the time I got to the top of the brae.

Back at Ivy, while I gave the roof trimmings another coat of paint;   Michael washed the slabs where the tubs had been sitting.   'The 'Troops' then went for a 'walk'.... and I flopped onto my bed and slept for an hour and a half.
They arrived back an hour ago and I can hear them pottering about on the patio.

This has been a better day as far as the temperature went;  it was hot but bearably so.   Actually I think I might have slept through the hottest part of the afternoon.

21.15   At the moment the wind is from the East, but will be round to the West by the morning;  tomorrow is going to be another nice day.... and probably hot in the afternoon.   Tomorrow is also the last day of Janice and Michael's holiday:  they are travelling home to 'sunny Sussex' on Thursday.

Michael has done a lot of work;  tonight the 'buggy' (she needs a proper name) is safely ensconced in her own little shed.   I'm a happy, but awfie tired boy tonight.

23.30    The ongoing horrifying scenes from Gaza continue unabated.   I would like our our Prime Minister (Mr Starmer) to 'man up', and get off the fence for once.  Recognise the Palestine State without 'conditions'.  Yes we all remember the terrorism of October 7th;  but there's 'terrorism' going on all the time just now in Gaza.    A  whole population, including women and children are being terrorised in the name of 'defence', and our PM sits on his fence;  as he does with everything.    Wars never solve anything that's why we keep having them!   Intelligent people would talk... and keep talking.   I feel for the Palestinians who would like to live in peace.... and for the Israeli's who would also like to live in peace.  Instead of peace they are having to suffer a massive increase in antisemitism, caused by the ongoing actions of the present Israeli leadership.   I can understand the desire to destroy Hamas after the October 7th atrocity;  but what's happening now is way beyond that.
Apologies to anyone I might have annoyed..... but I feel better having got that off my chest!
