Nice morning ....

31st July 2025 (Thursday)     07.15 .... It's a lovely morning, but light rain showers are mentioned

Leven Station.

in the weather forecast.   That means there could be interesting clouds.   At the moment everything is bright and beautiful.   Janice and Michael are organised for the journey south;  me?.... I'm ready for a cuppa.   The train departs Leven at 09.15;   time for two cuppas.

21.30    Michael and Janice are back home in 'Sunn .... Wet Sussex':  as it is here.   When we got to Leven this morning there was a train at the platform but it began to move off as they started to walk up to the platform.   It was an earlier train than they were booked on so only meant an annoying 20 minute wait for the next train.   I left Michael and Janice at the Station ,and went  to Methil to annoy Alice; where we had a cuppa and caught up with each other's News..... before going to B & M's to get some vital  necessities.

Alice had an appointment at the Randolph Wemyss hospital in the early afternoon.   We went back to HQ and had a very tasty early lunch, and a cuppa, before going to the hospital.   The 'Randolph' usually involves a walk  along a long corridor, I stayed in the car and cat napped.  Alice was going shopping in Leven High Street after her appointment, so I dropped her off  on my way home.

Back at Ivy I unloaded the messages, moored up the car;  then had a cuppa, before putting the messages away.   It was beginning to rain by this time.   I see that it is raining again;  having stopped for a while.   No tub watering needed tonight!   

I'm missing 'The Troops';  but plan to spend the next couple of days sorting out the big bedroom.   I think Friday and Saturday are going to be good drying days so I'll get the bedding washed, dried and ironed.


22.30    We have fairly heavy rain just now;  which I am quite happy about because it takes care of the tubs tonight .... and probably tomorrow night too.   The rain is going to move away overnight to give us 'sunny intervals' day tomorrow.    I need that because, as mentioned above, my plan depends on the next two days being good drying days!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
