Quiet morning .....
11th December 2025 (Thursday) 09.00 .... It's much quieter now that the wind had
moderated; and, it 'sunny spells' are mentioned in the weather forecast. that means my washing will dry! I'm a happy boy again. I'll have another cuppa then toddle off to Methil to annoy Alice. With the dark mornings just now, it would easy to 'stay in bed' or another half hour or so; however, I get up... but I wouldn't say I was really in the mood for doing things. Off to make that cuppa mentioned above.
19.15 I enjoyed my trip to Methil to 'annoy' Alice. As ever nowadays the roads were busy, both going to Methil and coming home.
Alice wanted to deliver Christmas tree lights to the Balmaise Centre, so, after a cuppa, and a catch up with the local 'news'. The last time I was at the Balmaise Centre was with Bert Cation (Site Agent with Bett Bros); that was 50 years ago.
Anyway we went to the Centre, where Alice delivered the lights . There was a lot of Mother's and Toddlers going in so I think this must have been the Christmas 'party'. I then got to thinking where was my first Christmas Party? .... it was at Crathes (as in Castle) School in 1944. As a matter of interest, Crathes School is still an active Primary School.
From the Balmaise Centre (which is in Leven) we went to the 'Bargain Store' where we did some shopping before going back to AHQ, (Methil); where we had another cuppa after a busy morrrrrrning. Alice had organised lunch so we enjoyed that, (we'll start on a diet after Christmas) before I set off for home. By this time the Western sky was beginning to look threatening and, I wanted to take in the washing (the one hung out two days ago).. I was back at Ivy in plenty o' time to bring in the washing; the rain never reach us.
We have a good weather forecast for tomorrow (after some overnight rain tonight), so I'll get a bigger
wash done. In the meantime I'm going to make a cuppa then watch 'Vera'.Today's photies are from the Albert Archive; taken at sunrise time on the 11th December 2017. It was a frosty morning.
