Nice, dust free morning ....

6th December 2025 (Saturday)     09.00 .... At the moment we have light rain coming in from the

North Sea, but, after the breeze goes round to the West, as it is forecast to do, the weather should improve.  The Fife Weather Kinghorn cam ,already shows this improvement!    Actually, the weather is to be a bit mixed for the next few days, with a lot of damp and showery spells.   Funnily enough the air feels warmer,;   and I'm feeling 'playful''.    However, I don't think I'll be going down to the beach just now.   

16.00   You can see from the photo what kind of weather we had when I went out this morning.   I had a quick run up to Chapel Green before going to Elie to hand in my prescription, and for the paper.   It was raining at that time, with hardly any breeze:  this meant that traffic fumes were lingering in the air... as I discovered when I left the car to go to the shops.   I found out, 12 years ago, that  the main cause of my asthma is traffic fumes;  and today is the perfect kind of day for that happening.   It's easy enough to avoid;  I just stay away from busy roads.   It was frustrating today, because I was feeling 'playful'/   Anyway I got all the stuff done that needed doing, and had a quiet day ever since.  

The weather hasn't been as bad as it could have been;  after all it is that time of year when nature is at rest.   Except for 'Blob' and friends;   though even they are quieter just now.   I was hoping to go for a short walk at some point this afternoon but even Ferry Road has had it's share of traffic today.

December is a good month for meteors, with three meteor showers;  Geminid 4 - 20 December, Ursid peak 22 - 23 December, and Quadrantid peaking 4 January 2026, but we need a clear sky for that.   Source' :  Shireen Jordan, BBC Weather.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
