Nice morrrrrrrrning ....

5th December 2025 (Friday)    09.45 ..... We have a nice quiet start to Friday, but 'light rain

with a moderate breeze' is the weather forecast for today.   That's a bit of a bummer, because I was thinking of going for a turn round the villages on the bike:  and I have a small washing going through the machine.   It can hang on a claes horse in front of a radiator so there's no problem with the washing.   We had some red in the sunrise sky and that's not a good sign.    Bonnie, but not good,    At the moment there's only a light breeze, but the wind is to freshen to  frisky later in the afternoon.


19.00    Although the weather has been mixed I've had an enjoyable day.    I ended up having a run up to Chapel Green in the car, rather than the bike, because of the cool air... and the treat of light showers.   This is of course a funny time of year;  everything is, sort of 'waiting' for the longest night to pass;  even 'Blob' seems quieter than usual.   Mind you that could be because there's a Sparrow Hawk looking for food around 'The Ferry just now.    

Calumn and Karen dropped in on their way to Edinburgh Airport  to start their journey back to Brazil.  
They were lucky that a 'glitch' with the computers was fixed, so that they could travel.   It was great seeing them again:  I think Calumn said his timed in Brazil would be over, aid that they would  coming 'home' to Cellardyke next year.  
I'm going to make a cuppa, then find out the Teams that Scotland have been drawn with in the initial stages of the FIFA World Cup.

I suspect this could be an expensive venue for the supporters:  they are going to be visiting the country that  'invented' the 'Rip Off Economy!    Mind it might be worth it just to see Scotland play Brazil, England and Croatia;   on their way to the final!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
