Overcast and wet .....
22nd December 2025 (Monday) 09.30 .... It was really dark at 08.00 morning; and I soon
found out why! We have wet start to Monday, with light rain drifting in from the North Sea on a light Easterly breeze; 'dreich' is the best description of the weather just now. The rain is forecast to stop, to leave us with an overcast but damp day. 'Sunny spells' aren't mentioned, but I fancy a few in the afternoon. I won't be going far today! Maybe a turn 'round the villages' in the car.... after an 'early morning coffee'.
16.00 I had a turn round the villages; and up to Colinsburgh to top up the car. I'd planned on going to Balcarres for a wee change, but discovered (at Colinsburgh) that the camera didn't have a card in it. The only photographs taken today were from Ivy of the dull weather; so I'm going to find sunny ones to brighten up the 'blog'.
The weather has been gloomy and damp all say; I'd have had to go 3000 feet vertically to see the sun. And I pranged my knee. When you stumble you automatically run forward to stop falling; I did that bit and didn't fall, so that was good: However the auld knee objected. It will be fine in a couple o' days.
22.30 I've been resting my knee, which is frustrating because I have things I want to do. However, I'm going up to Iain's on Wednesday, for a few days at Christmas, so it should be fine by the time I'm back in Ivy.
Both photographs were taken 10 years ago on a bike run to Balcarres. Top photo ; Arncroach. Bottom photo; Balcarres Den.
