Wet ....
9th December 2025 (Tuesday) 09.45 .... Hmmmmm .... We have a dreich morrrrrrrning. The
Fife Weather cams all show grey and wet; except the Kinghorn one! .... which has a breaking sky to the South West of Edinburgh. At the moment there's not much wind, but it will freshen, to give us a wild and wet night ahead. Perhaps the breaking sky will come our way for a wee while., but I'm not going to bother with the sun cream. On a positive note; dust levels are low!
17.00 As you can see from the top photo we had a lot of rain overnight; even Chapel Green was wet. This was taken just after the rain stopped and the dog walkers, like me, took advantage of that. I met Grizelda up
at Chapel Green, walking her daughter's Jack Russell, and we could see other walkers on the beach. It was actually quite warm. I had another walk up to the phone box in the afternoon, but mostly I've had a quiet 'rest' day. I found a good film to watch in the afternoon, while writing Christmas cards; 'Far from the Madding Crowd', a nice auld fashioned kind of film, British film.
There's one bit in the film where the farm workers are sowing grain by hand; I was taught how to do that by Jock Kinnear, the Grieve on Balcarres Mains, in 1952. Why were we doing that? It was a corner of a field and I think 'Jock' wanted us to see how it was done in the 'old days', before broadcast seeders. In the film they sow with only one hand; we did it with both hands.
22.15 The freshening wind will and will mop up the water that's lying around; having said that, the wind should begin to moderate a bit by midnight. However it still going to be windy tomorrow as the tail end of 'Bram' moves away. I was hoping for 'sunny spells' tomorrow, but they aren't mentioned in the weather forecast.
I don't have any plan for tomorrow, but I have to go to Elie to get a paper, and pick up my prescription. I'll finish off writing Christmas cards. And post the ones that need to go by Royal Mail. Busy morning ahead.
We had all kinds of weather today; including 'sunny spells' and interesting skies.
