20th December 2025 (Saturday) 11.00 .... It's a cracker o' a mornin'.... and I have been a
busy boy. When I saw the sun I immediately amended the 'plan' ans switched on the washing machine. I'd dragged the auld legs oot o' the bed at 06.45; it was still dark at that time, but I was feeling frisky - ish. By the time I'd showered, had breakfast and scanned the 'News', the sun was up and I could see that we were going to have a lovely day. I had to go to Elie to post a couple o' cards, and buy a paper. The first thing I noticed when I went up ferry Road (the car was pointing that way so that's the way I went) was the early morning 'light': and I think that got me into a slightly excited state; and today's 'plan' began to change.
I wondered how the parking would be on Elie High Street because of the roadworks, but had no problem at that time of the morning. I met Bob, whom I haven't seen for a while, outside the 'paper shop' so caught up with some of the Kinneuchar news. The shop was busy so I didn't hang around: by this time I had the harbour in mind. Today's 'plan' was abandoned.
Back at Ivy I hung out the washing, put the kettle 'on' and had a looks at this morning's batch o'photies. I am a 'happy bunny'., The breathing is rubbish (cool SE wind) but 'hey ho' a couple o' puffs o' the bloo puffer and I'm ready (well nearly) ready to rock 'n roll. I shall now have morrrrrrrning coffee and come up with an amended plan for today .... and tomorrow! I have a few cards to deliver, and this might be the opportunity do do that. 18.45 During morning coffee I came up with a plan for the afternoon: I'd phone Moira (Arncroach) to see if they were going to be in residence in the afternoon; and if so, could I have a meeting with my Secretary! Moira, Brian and Morven (my Secretary) would be 'in residence'.... so I'd bumble my way to 'Erncroach' to deliver Christmas cards; and catch up with the Erncroach news.
I enjoyed the quiet run to Arncroach on what was a beautiful sunny afternoon. And it was goodcatching up with the Arncroach news. I also found out how Morven ('Secretary') does the video drawings she uploads to FB. I left Arncroach full of information, but seems to have evaporated. I'll have to go more often. On the way home the sun was low in the Western sky, and not good to drive into; but the roads were quiet Anyway I got back to Ivy made a cuppa then promptly fell asleep. The washing I hung out wasn't 100% dry but it's hanging in front of a radiator now; I'll iron it before I go to bed.
I have the seeds of a plan for tomorrow, but it depends on how the weather is first thing. Light drizzle on a light breeze off the North Sea is forecast; not very promising. However that might be at Balcomie and Crail and not far us at Elie and'The Royal Burgh'.
