Lovely morrrrrrning ....

30th December 2025 (Tuesday)     11.15    We have a lovely, bright and sunny morning:  it is

cold right enough, but there's only a light NW breeze so hardly any windchill.   It's a lovely morning for walking, with or without a dog!   A few colourful Joggers have passed down (and up) Ferry Road;  it's brilliant morning for jogging.   Brings back happy memories seeing them pattering up the road.

Me?     Well I didn't waken up until 08.45 after a good night's sleep.   However, I've been sneezing for the past few of days, and now have a cold that's going round;  the the Nurse was recovering from it when she came round the other day;  but she was past the'spreading' stage.   Anyway, I have a cold and will lie low for a couple of days; until I'm past the spreading' stage.   I'm glad that I did that shopping yesterday; I don't have to worry about food!  I had hoped to go to Methil today, to annoy Alice, but will leave that until after Hogmanay.

It's morning coffee time already.   I'll check the Radio Times to see what I can find to watch on the tele.  Might even try to do some 'very light' 'ousework.   I got loads of books for Christmas presents;  I'm now reading one about the buses of the North East of Scotland.   It's fascinating.

20.00    It has been a nice sunny day/  yes is has been cold but it's easy to combat that.    As planned I never went further than the gate.   I did a wee bit of light 'ousework, watched some TV and slept .   I guess sleeping is the best way to rest and shake off the cold.    I'll have a 'JT' tonight and hope to be able to go for a short daunder tomorrow.   If it isn't too cold.

I had a browsing session;  hence the old Post Card photies.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
