Overcast and damp....

1st December 2025 (Monday)     10.30 .... I've been watching the News and see that some folk think Rachel Reeves (Chancellor) should resign.    If she did resign, it wouldn't make one iota of a difference;  it would only be a different shoulder for the Labour parrot to perch on! 

It's much warmer (8.9C just now) this morning, with a mostly cloudy sky,  'light rain' forecast.   The sky is brightening,  so re could be the chance of 'sunny spells':  if that happens we could have a pleasant day.   I'm in a 'positive'  mood, and have washing going through the machine,    

16.00    I've done exactly what I planned to do on the Monday holiday:   had a good rest day.    I hung out a small washing but it never was going to dry;  especially after it was caught with a shower in the afternoon.    Tomorrow should be  better drying day , so I'll leave it (the washing) out. 

19.30    The  washing that I left out is getting a good old rinse tonight.  I'm thinking t will have to be brought in for a spin tomorrow morning;  unless the rain stops, and a drying wind gets up overnight!    At the moment it disnae look like doin' that....  but tomorrow's weather forecast is, "sunny intervals with a moderate breeze".   Could be a good drying day.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
