Light cloud ....

12th December 2025 (Friday)     10.00 ..... My word;   it's hard to get going on the

dark mornings we have at this time of year, especially cloudy mornings.   That said, it's a nice morning (not raining), with sunny spells to come;   and I have already been almost busy.    In fact I'm going to have morrrrrrrrrning coffee after this update;  after which, I might have a daunder down to Nana's Seat.     

17.00    We've enjoyed a really lovely day,;  with sunny spells, and warm for the time of tear.   I had my daunder to Nana's Seat, which was wet.   I always carry a bit of kitchen roll, so dried a bit of the seat and had a relaxing 10 minutes watching a few dog walkers on the beach.     
There was a bonnie 'light' about so I ended up with a load of photos to play with later.   Since then I've been doing a wee bit of 'ousework:  but I really enjoyed being out for a change.    And the weather is going to change again tomorrow;  which is why I took advantage of today!

I'm glad that I had the booster jabs (in my case one jab with both boosters therein) because there's a big increase in 'flu cases all over the country.    I think the single 'jab' is the way to go, even though I did have a bad reaction to it.   The reaction wasn't to the single jab but to the contents:  I experienced really bad dizziness the next day, and, at one point  nearly fainted.  Thankfully, I'm almost back to feeling  'normal me ' again.

20.00     I found a brilliant nature programme to watch in the afternoon;  all about nature watchers in the City of London.   A  bird watcher, saw a  pair of Great Crested Grebes doing their spectacular 'courtship' routine in a wetland where multi storey flats were reflected on the water.   When I watch the Great Crested Grebe's at Kinneuchar loch, I have the kirk reflection.   The whole hour was really interesting;   so much so, that I never fell asleep!  When I sat down, that was what I expected to do to do! .... sleep.

I'm tired tonight..... it will be the walk in the fresh air that has done that;  not the 'work' I've done in the
house!   Oh I've done a wee bit but not as much as I wanted to get done.  But, I got the Christmas card strings up;  and there are cards on them.   Tomorrow will be a 'work day'.   I need a cuppa now.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
