Nice morning .....

4th December 2025 (Thursday)      11.00 .... It's a lovely morning;   light cloud and sunny spells,

with a cool breeze;  and  there is the chance of a shower.   I'm organised for 'The Shot Inn'.   I actually toyed with taking 'The Buggy' down but the chance of showers changed that plan.   We have had a few spots of rain but not a proper shower so far:   it's back to the original 'plan'.... Kirsty picking me up.  

Anne has brought round a goodie for me to have with my morrrrrrrrrrrrning coffee so I shall have that after this update.   Let's enjoy what looks like being a lovely, albeit cool, day!


19.00    'The Team' enjoyed lunch, and a blether, at 'The Ship Inn' .   We had Fish n' Chips (I'm glad I had the small portion), followed by ice cream.   I didn't have the camera with me so didn't take any photographs.    It was an interesting enough day for the camera, but there was a cold wind.   From 'The Ship' we went up to have look at Kirsty's new house.   She is making good progress with stripping the wall paper, but has some other alterations to make before she is ready for a painter.

Back at Ivy I made a cuppa then fell asleep watching the snooker.   I have been tired today, but will spend tomorrow writing Christmas cards;  so that will be a 'rest' day.   I'll write the ones for posting tomorrow and get them away.

Today's photies are all from 'Sunny Sussex', taken a 2015.   The cat is 'Dundee', when he was living at Pevensey.    The other two are fro Hastings and Pevensey.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
