Sunny but cold .....

30th November 2025 (Sunday)     14.00 ....It had been (and still is) a lovely sunny day;  but it 

is also a  cold one.   The temperature is 5.8C just now, and is on the way down.   Iain is off home to Auchnagatt after setting the central heating to the winter  times and temperatures.   He also sorted out the cameras, so, though we didn't get much done outside, vital things have been done inside.  Where  it's warm.... and not far from the kettle!

Ferry Road has been busy with traffic;  however, I don't think if it will be day trippers making for the beach!   This is St Andrews Day so they might be taking advantage of tomorrow  being a Public Holiday in Scotland.


16.30     I  had a mug o' coffee after Iain went away, then did some 'ooverin' and dustin'.   After all that I thought I deserved a cuppa (and a goodie) and settle down to watch the snooker.   I'd take a few sunset  shots up at the golf course for the blog.    Of course I fell asleep ....and sunset was past by the time I woke up.    Luckily the moon had risen;  hence the photie of the moon.

With tomorrow being a holiday I will have a well earned 'day off'!    That said 'light rain' is forecast;  with a chance of 'sunny spells' in the middle of the day.

22.30    I've just been putting the Blue bin out for tomorrow morning;  and, would you believe it there's a warmer air now.   Warmer than it has been all day!   I've had a lazy evening watching the News and browsing the TV Channels.

No 'plan' for tomorrow, but, it the air is warmer, and it isn't raining,  I might get out for a short daunder.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
