Overcast and wet .....

13th November 2025 (Thursday)      09.15 .... We have a dreich morning;  it's wet, windy

and cold, with the the wind being from the Northeast.   Luckily I have the boiler cupboard to keep me occupied for a good part of the morning.   And I'll be browsing the Archive.

At times I think the sky is brightening, but I think that is  wishful thinking.   You never know;  we might have a brighter end to the afternoon.   I certainly won't be going anywhere until the rain stops.

16.00    There was a slightly brighter interlude in the wet weather around lunch time, when we had only a light drizzle, but that didn't last long... and the sun never broke through.   Since then the rain has increased in intensity and we've had a really wet and gloomy day.

Elizabeth (my kirk Elder) came round in the afternoon, delivering a letter from the Kirk to update us on the changes that are ongoing with the Church Of Scotland.   There are going to be fewer kirks and bigger Parishes.   East Neuk Trinity, Largo Parish Church and St Monans Church are to unite as one Parish, to be known as 'Fife Coastal Trinity Parish Church':  I wonder if there will be a  'Parish Kirk';  and if so will it be St Monans Church?

A huge number of Church of Scotland kirks are being sold.   Many might be bought by the local community and used as a Centre for various functions; which is what is planned for our local kirk at Elie.  This makes me further wonder:  will there even be a Church of Scotland by the end of this century?

19.15    This has been a wet day... and it's still raining.    It has been a grand day for sorting out the

boiler cupboard shelves;  and for working on the computer.

Today's photies are from the Cheddar Gorge folder.   The top photo shows how relieved Janice was to see Michael after we'd done the Gough cave.   Janice didn't do the caves because she feels claustrophobic.

Tomorrow I shall go into the Archive and find photies of the three  kirks that will make up the new 'Fife Coastal Trinity Parish'.
