Nice morning .....

2nd November 2025 (Sunday)      11.00 .... It's a beautiful morrrrrrrning;  I actually louped into

the car and went for the paper .   Marcia and Irene came into the 'Paper Shop' ;  they were going to the church Service in Elie..    The last time I was at the kirk was in 2019 (pre COVID).    I thought about it, after the girls mentioned it, but noticed that it was midday (kirk clock)  when I got to the car, so I was too late.   That is my excuse anyway.   As a matter of fact, the Elie kirk clock stopped, about the same time that I stopped going to the kirk).... and was eventually set to midday.

12.15     The main 'News' today is about innocent  passengers, travelling on an LNER train, being attacked, by two, 'British Nationals' with knives, near Huntingdon, in Cambridgeshire.   Apparently it isn't a 'terrorist' attack;  but it must have been terrifying for those travelling on the train.

16.30    Although a bonnie sunny day it has not been warm.... because there bit o' wind chill..   At the moment the patio thermometer is reading 9.6.    Because of the cold I didn't go out again after picking up the paper in the morning.

I've been keeping my eye on the 'News' updates from the LNER train stabbing near Huntingdon.    The BBC News journalist lassie clarified what a Terrorist attack is.    A Terrorist Attack, as defined in the Terrorist Act of 2000, is when someone (or a Group) uses terrorism against political, religious, racial or ideological beliefs.   There's a lot more to it than that (it makes interesting reading) but you get then idea.  The BBC News Journalist explained it perfectly.    She also did an excellent job of interviewing a female passenger (Amira) that had been caught up in, and witnessed the horror from beginning to end.    It will be interesting to find out the motive  two British people had for doing what they did!   They must have boarded the train with the knives, intending to kill passengers.   My thought are with everyone caught up in this horrific act.   People that do acts such as this, must be 'wired up wrong'.

21.30    It turns out that there was only one person stabbing people on the train:   Had there been two, there would have been a lot more injured people to deal with.    Luckily there was a lot of heroic people aboard: one the LNER team being  especially brave, risking his own life to save many of his passengers, and receiving life threatening injuries in the process.   My thoughts are with him, and his family, and friends as he fights to recovers from his injuries in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge..

I've been on 'the pedals'again!   They had me thinking of the 'good old days': when things were greener,
quieter .... and  there were more small birds around.   Wood Pigeons were ... well in the woods, not on garden bird tables, and nesting in villages.   Pubs shut at 22.00, and advertising was at acceptable levels.   Then another thought came to mind;  in 70 years or so people will be looking  back to now, and this will be their 'good old days'.
