Nice morning .....



22nd November 2025 (Saturday)      10.00 .... We have a nice morning after some overnight

rain.... and it's milder than it has been  lately.   It should be a really bonnie, warm, day once the sun burns off the last of the rain clouds.   Alice is coming along on the bus with home made soup, so lunch is well taken care of.    

I'm still suffering from the after effects of the 'two in one' jab I had on Wednesday.... and still slightly under the weather.   I certainly won't be having that jab again.   Actually I didn't have a choice this time.    The first of me realising that I had been done with the 'two in one' was when the Nurse said "that's you done".   "Oh... which one have I had?" I asked him.   That was when I found out I'd had the 'two in one'.   Of course it's not the 'two in one' that's the problem;  it's the stuff they have to use to combat the flu' and COVID.   I daresay it will be a quicker way of doing it, but I have to say that this is the worst after effects I've had .   That said.... as long as it keeps the flu' and COVID at bay I'll be a happy boy.

I'd better 'rin roond wi' the Hoover' before Alice appears.

19.45   Alice arrived (off an earlier bus than originally planned) so we had plenty time to put 'sort out the World's prob;ems.   When you think about it, there are people all over the World doing that;  and they'll do it all again tomorrow.

Anyway we had long natter, before lunch.   Alice brought Lentil soup and Apple Crumble along so lunch was easy done.    With me being slightly UTW we didn't go out anywhere, but just caught up with each other's news.   Alice set to catch the bus at the School  Bus Stop;   I washed the lunch dishes then fell sound asleep watching darts.

22.30     I've had an an enjoyable day;  Alice coming along cheered me up.    I feel much better tonight; 

the dizzy turns have been fewer and much weaker today.   In fact I'd be very wary of giving that mix as a dingle jab to folk over 75.   The dizzy turns  I had were bad.    Anyway I think I should be 'back to normal' after another rest day tomorrow.   I'm a 'happy boy' again.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
