Light rain .....

24th November 2025 (Monday)     10.30 .... My word.... I didn't waken up until 08.40 this

morning;  I am now 'chasing my tail' trying to catch up, with where I would normally 'be' at this time of day.   The weather is a bit disappointing;  a grey sky with light rain isn't inspiring!    I'll be browsing the archive today.   I actually put a washing 'on' but I can't see that going out on the line.   It's only a wee washing to empty the machine.   Tomorrow is a better forecast for washing.   It's almost 'morning coffee' time and it's not ling since I had breakfast.    It's all 'go' in Ivy this morning.   Well it will be .... after I have the coffee!

14.30   I ventured out for a short walk to the Golf Course then home by Rotten Row;  it was chillier than I expected, but I was wrapped up and really enjoyed being 'out'.    It's a lovely day now albeit chilly;  but the light rain has moved away, and the showers have missed us.   We're enjoying some 'sunny spells'.  The temperature on the patio thermometer is 6.9C but it felt a few degrees colder out in the open. 

19.00     The short walk I had has tired me out;  I had two siesta's this afternoon.   When I think about it, this is the first short walk I've had for a few days.    Obviously I still have the 'fatigue' that came with the booster jab.   Growing old is the easy bit;  coping with it is harder.

I've just been out at the bin and it's really cold out tonight.   Anyway I'm finished for the day, and won't be outside again.  I'm actually having a mug o' coffee to waken me up!    Not something I normally do in the evening!  


It's going to be 'sunny with a gentle breeze' tomorrow so I'll get a washing done.   In fact I'll

do the actual washing tonight and hang it out first thing in the morning.   Right now I'm going to find something to watch on the tele.   And finish my mug o' coffee.

22.15   I've been watching a fascinating programme on BBC 2 ,about the 'Fall of Rome' .... and the similarities that exist today.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
