Overcast with rain to come ....

11th November 2025 (Tuesday)      Armistice Day "We shall remember them".

09.30 .... We had a red sunrise (bonnie....not a good weather sign) but we now have a grey gloomy
looking  sky, with a brisk SW breeze, and Light rain forecast.   The late afternoon might be brighter with 'sunny spells'.

19.30    The weather has been wet and gloomy all day, but I have been busy.   I organised a boiler service;  which is going to take place tomorrow afternoon, so that gave me some work to do,, emptying shelve in the boiler cupboard.
I watched the Armistice Day Commemoration  on BBC, then did some stuff on the computer;  including catching up with my emails.

My afternoon siesta was longer than usual, but that would be because I am still tired after yesterday.   I had hoped for 'sunny spells' so that i could go out for a short walk... but, as I've already mentioned, the sunny spells never happened.    It has in fact been a very wet afternoon;  but the rain has stopped now so we might just have a bonnier day tomorrow..  I will be having a quiet day, until the boiler is serviced:  i shall then put all the bits and pieces back onto the shelves.

Myra phoned in the afternoon wondering when we could go out for the November 'Team' lunch.    My word;  this has been a quick year;   Christmas is only 43 days away.

The car?   It started when Ryan went to get it from Durham Wynd, so (hopefully) I should have it back, sometime on Thursday.

It's strange, but I am beginning to feel almost playful.  It's a bit late in the day for that!   I'll have a cuppa instead, and find something to watch on the tele.

22.30    This has been a busier day for me, much busier  than I intended it to be, having tp prepare for
the boiler service was a surprise, as I didn't expect to get it done 'tomorrow'.   However I'm happy to have it done, and be ready for the winter.

Today's photographs are all from 'The Pageant of the Century (Odhams Press Ltd)  printed 1933.

The bottom photograph is in Remembrance of my Grand Uncle, Pte Frederick Bruce of the Gordon Highlanders.   The photo is of Gordon Highlanders in the front line in 1918.
