Overcast and damp ....

5th November 2025 (Wednesday)     10.00 .... The weather is not of the most cheerful kind just

now;  we have an overcast sky, with light rain now and again.   However the Fife weather cams have promising signs, but none are showing  actual 'sunny spells';   however we might be lucky!    At the moment it looks like 'ousework, and computer for me today.   I'm not that keen on the 'ousework bit!

19.30    I've been busy on the computer (on and off) most of the afternoon.   The weather has been of the damp kind most of the day;  we didn't have any sunny spells, so I didn't go out in the car.  Today's photies are from the archive.

I see on the News that the Supreme Court of the USA is questioning the use of tariffs by President Trump.    The capitalist world has to thank a Fife man, Adam Smith, from Kirkcaldy; author of   'The 'Wealth of Nations' ; the  economists's Bible.  Adam Smith is regarded by many, as the father of capitalism.    The link takes you to the Adam Smith Heritage Centre in Kirkcaldy.    

Tomorrow looks like being drier, and even brighter, than today.   I'm contemplating having a run to Methil to annoy Alice.   It depends on how the weather actually is;  and how I'm feeling.   At the moment I'm feeling frolicsome!

22.30    It's really warm tonight.... and damp.   We could have a bonnie day tomorrow if it's warm.... and sunny!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
