Nice quiet morning ....

17th June 2025 (Tuesday)    09.00 .... "Sunny intervals with a fresh breeze, .... and a low chance of

light showers" is our weather forecast today.   Light showers means we should have an 'interesting' sky.   I'm going to do a washing, take a trip up to Elie to hand in my prescription and get a paper.   This is going to be a lazy, relaxing, day:  actually, I'm feeling "playful, verging on frisky", at the moment.

21.00    This has been an eventful day!   I've been 'roond The Ferry' twice on the Mobility Scooter.  It's marvellous being able to 'walk' again;  albeit sitting down, and moving at walking pace.   Or even slower.     

The two pieces of ramp were delivered at 13.46.  They do the job perfectly, the only problem is the water running down Ferry Road:  luckily it's clean water and not sewage because I get it on my hands when putting the ramp in place.   I set up the ramp, but the road was too busy with traffic for me to go out, at that time, so I had an early afternoon coffee, and watched the News.   

 

I eventually got the Scooter pointing in the right direction and, surprised myself, by getting onto the road without much trouble just after 16.40... after the work vans had gone.     I was free and rarin' tae go.   Rarin' tae go? .... not on the Ferry High Street;  the surface is not suitable for mobility scooters going faster than walking pace... or slower (crawling) in may places.   I think that I'll find the whole road from Chapel Green to 'The Baker's corner will be done at walking pace.   That's the bad news.  The good news?..... I'll be going out in the mornings or evenings mostly.
It will take me a few days of 'gaun roond The Ferry'  to get the hang of the Mobility Scooter, but one thing I noticed right away;  the Ferry High Street looks 'different'.... and I saw loads of photographs that I need to take.    Sort of Elie and Earlsferry from a Mobility Scooter.  All the same places ,but from a slightly different angle;  yes I'm going to like my (this thing has got to get a 'name'!) Mobility Scooter.

The water has stopped running down the road, so that was a quick fix;  there was a lot of water going ...
I was going to say "down the drain";  but it wasn't....  because the drain was blocked!   Anyway I won't get my hands wet tomorrow setting up the ramp.

22.00    I'm feeling tired after an eventful, and enjoyable, 'rest day.'  I remembered to hand in prescription this morning.... and I bought a paper.  No 'plan' for tomorrow but I'd like to take another turn 'roond the Ferry' on the scooter.  
There's a spell of hot weather coming in;  this means watering the tubs.   I've just come in from doing that inn fact.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
