Lovely morning ....

7th June 2025 (Saturday)    08.45 .... It's a lovely, peaceful kind o' mornin';  but thundery showers

are forecast, so we we should have an interesting sky when the showers roll in.   Near enough the whole of the UK is under the threat of thundery showers.... and flash flooding.   Iain and I have had breakfast and will be ready to go to Kirkcaldy soon;  after a cuppa.

14.00    We've been to Kirkcaldy and bought a Mobility Scooter, which should be delivered in the next week or so.   It's easy to drive, and suitable for both road and pavement .... and means that I will be able to bumble around the villages in comfort.   I had, and enjoyed, a trial run on site;  including reversing (it's got reversing 'beepers').  

The weather has been showery, as per forecast, but it is sunny just now;  and warm.   In fact I might have an afternoon coffee on the patio.   Iain is resting after all the driving yesterday and today.   

19.15    Both Iain and me have come down with different bugs:  Iain has a flu bug that was going round the office (Aberdeen) last week, I have a cold that I got on Tuesday, when a lady coughed, right in my face, in Sainsbury's on Tuesday, just  as I turned into the aisle.   I remember thinking at the time  "oh well I certainly will have whatever bug she just spread".   Unfortunate timing.   Funny thing is wee both felt 'no bad' when we got up this morning. ... but it will be Lemsips and early bed tonight.    Thankfully we got the Mobility Scooter..... which was what Iain came down to organise.

The showers of the afternoon have turned to steady rain;  that takes care of the flower tubs.   The 'light rain' is to be with us overnight then fading away to give KY9 a sunny start to Sunday, turning to sunny intervals with light showers about lunch time.

I had been thinking of buy an electric tricycle, but decided the sensible thing to do was buy a Mobility Scooter.   I didn't realise you got three wheeled Mobility Scooters;   so I got my trike and mobility scooter all in one.   I'm a happy boy.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
