16.15 The weather has been a bit mixed; sunny spells with squally showers. I don't know how many extra rinses the washing has had, but it's more that one.... and I still have hopes of it drying. Actually it will definitely dry; because I'm leaving it out until it is.
I had a short drive up to Kinneuchar, then home by Balbuthie, in the middle of the afternoon; it was shorter than I meant it to be, because of a heavy 'shower'. The showers are going to die away overnight, and tomorrow's weather is going to be ..... oh... "sunny intervals with a fresh breeze". I might get the bike out in the morning.
21.00 Just when I was enjoying the warm weather, and I get the bike out; temperature drops and upset the tubes again so 'nae biking' until the summer really arrives. Iain is coming down next weekend and we're going to have a look at mobility scooters; with the intention of buying one. I think I have to admit to being an 'elderly person'. Hey that's good, I can do serious moaning; that's what 'elderly'people are expected do.
The fresh greens of Spring are certainly brightening up the countryside just now. It's all very relaxing. I had planned on going out on the bike tomorrow morning, to get a batch of 'fresh green photographs, but, if the cold air is still with us, I probably won't because of the asthma. Which is a bit o' a bummer, because the freshness soon were's off. When I think of it; in three weeks it will be the longest day (Midsummer). Oops... I wish I hadn't thought of that.
I was watching David Attenborough in the afternoon, and he was talking about how wildlife the world
over is in decline. This got me thinking about the Swifts we had every year. The evocative sound of a 'screaming party' of Swifts, flying just above the rooftops at dusk in the summer, is a sound I really miss. That sound was 'the sound of summer'! It will be eight years since our local Swifts disappeared. They have declined by nearly 65% in the last 30 years. I haven't seen one Swift this year; since losing our colony, I have seen Swifts migrating but not this year. It's sad .... but it's happening all over the world. I'm glad that I had the pleasure of hearing Swifts over Elie and Earlsferry.Kinneuchar Station road.
