Lovely morning ....

19th June 2025 (Thursday)     08.00 .... We have a nice morning;  "sunny intervals with a moderate

breeze" is the weather forecast so it should be warm later. The breeze is from the South and is backing to the SE later.   It's a should be a bonnie day for doing 'play' stuff .... warm, but not oppressively hot;  as it's going to be down in 'Sunny Sussex'.

20.00    It has been a beautiful, sunny and warm (23.9C) day.   And good drying day, so I did a washing before I went along to Methil to join Alice and Izzy for a trip to 'Hill of Tarvit' a National trust property not far from Cupar.   Luckily Izzy checked before we set off, and found out that 'Hill of Tarvit' it was 'Closed' today;  so it was Plan 'B';  Izzy would drop  us (Alice and me) at Falkland Palace, while she went to an Auction House to look at some furniture.

Falkland Palace gardens is always a relaxing place(we'd both 'done' the Palace a few times, and fancied a quiet walk round the garden.    It was then the we found I'd left my walking stick in the car:  however I'd hirple, from seat to seat, as far as I could.  We 'checked in' and set off for the first seat.   First seat?..... the bench seats that are normally around the garden were only starting to be put in place.... and the first 'seat' we found was the huge deck chair in the top photo.   It was comfortable to sit in but not easy to get out of.  We wandered along to the chess corner and found some benches there.... and picnic tables.

I'd surprised myself at how far I'd managed without my stick.  After an enjoyable (and slow) wander, Alice contacted Izzy to find out where she was;  and found that Izzy was a couple of miles away, on her way back from Dunshalt.   Perfect timing.  We were going to 'The Stables' for lunch.   Lovely, typical workhorse type courtyard converted to modern use... a Restaurant.   It was 'Closed'.   By now we were working our way through an alphabet of 'plans';  actually I think we ended up on plan 'D', which was The Garden Centre in Freuchie.   Plan 'C' had been the 'Pillars of Hercules', but it was packed.   The Freuchie Garden Centre turned out to be a good place to go for lunch.   The dining area was huge,  and busy but not 'Full'.   We were shown to a table, the waitress arrived to take our order and that was it.  We were all ready for food, and enjoyed it.  I'd go back there again.

On the way back to Methil we had a short stop in Glenrothes so that Alice could visit her bank (the
Leven Branch closed) then set off for  'AHQ' (Alice HQ), where Alice and I had Coffee, and Izzy went of shopping.

After my coffee at AHQ I bumbled my way back to 'The Royal Burgh'.... via Elie to pick up my prescription.   Yes.... I fell sound asleep in front of the TV.  And I expect I'll sleep 'in' tomorrow morning, by, my word, though tired, I have enjoyed myself.
