Nice morning ....

30th June 2025 (Monday)    08.30 .... There's a layer of cloud just now, but the sun should shift

that (like it did yesterday) to give us the KY9 forecast of "sunny intervals with a moderate SW breeze".   Oh... and the temperature is 19.2C so we could have a hot afternoon.     My morning began with a migraine (weather) which is a bit of a bummer, but I've taken the pills and now feel 'almost frisky'.   I can 'feel' frisky .... but can't 'do' frisky.   I do a 'frisky hirple' now and again.   

The cloud is starting to evaporate, and blue bits beginning to brighten our morning.   It's going to be a warm day.   And good drying one!


21.00    Although I found it uncomfortably hot (and humid) (24.3C) this afternoon on the patio, it was much warmer down south... and even hotter around the Mediterranean.    However by that time I'd been to Alice's, and we'd done the shopping and taken in plenty fluids.   Alice came up with her best dessert ever today... and it had peaches in it so counted as one of our 'five a day'.

I've heard about folk being attacked by sea gulls, defending their young; well, Barbara, one of Alice's neighbours, has one such gull on her roof.... with a young gull that it defends from all comers.   Posties, and anyone wearing high viz jackets are prime targets.  The parents are seriously protective of the last (of two) offspring.  Funny how we don't have that kind of problem here.  Having said that, Levenmouth has it's share of fast food outlets;  and the rubbish that comes with that.  Probably 'easy food' for gulls.

When I got back from Methil, I put the few messages away, the sat down to have a well deserved cuppa.   As ever the roads had been busy, and I was tired.    And, as ever, I fell sound asleep for over an hour.   I made myself a fresh cuppa  and contemplated taking 'The Buggy' out.   However I had another migraine kick in (second one today .... it's good migraine weather..... so I took a couple of pills, cancelled the going out of The Scooter plan, and watched the News.  

We are forecast to get rain overnight... and, being kna ... er tired, I am relying on it to water the tubs.

There's a'feel' of rain in the air but but no actual raindrops.   Anyway the migraines have driven me off to bed early;  but I will feel 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' in the morning.   That's how I feel the day after a couple of migraines.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
