Lovely fresh morning ....

18th June 2025 (Wednesday)    08.45 .... It's a bonnie morning but cooler than I expected it to be,

because there's a layer of thin cloud just now.   That said we're unlikely to get the extreme heat that 'Sunny Sussex' and the the south is going to have.   I slept in this morning, but I have been working lately:  I had a long hot shower this morning to ease off stiff muscles;  and I'm feeling much better.

Myra phoned to remind me that it's the Colinsburgh Friendship Lunch today, and that she'd pick me up at 12.20 .... that takes care of 'lunch'.

11.30   The work of the past few days has caught up with me;  today is going to be a rest day.   And probably tomorrow.  I've been  trying to pace myself when doing things,  but get 'carried away' and forget that the muscles are .... er ...slightly older.   A couple of 'lazy' rest days.   

The scooter is a brilliant way of getting around, but our roads are definitely not Mobility Scooter friendly.   It was a toss up whether I'd get a electric tricycle or a mobility scooter;  and I'm glad that I chose the scooter:   it is comfortable, has all the safety attachments .... and most importantly, the speed is limited (max 8.5).  As soon as you go over two wheels in number (bicycle) you can't weave about to avoid the bad bits on the road.  As I said yesterday, I'll go out mostly in the early part of the morning;  and occasionally in the evening.   I'm determined to 'tour' (and photograph, Elie and Earlsferry from a slightly different viewpoint) on a Mobility Scooter.... before Christmas (189 days).

19.00    Myra picked me up bang on time and e enjoyed our Colinsburgh Friendship Lunch (soup and desert) followed by a cuppa and cake.Alan (Adamson) was at our table and brought us up to date with all that's going on around Colinsburgh.   And Kinneuchar.   And Elie and Earlsferry.    Alan is still working and has customers in all the villages.

It has been noticeably cooler today, but should be warmer again tomorrow, and into the weekend:  the

first 'heatwave' of the summer apparently.   It's to be overly hot down south.   As planned I've had a restful day;  the only 'work' today was doing the ironing.   I considered going for a turn 'roond the Ferry', but was put of by the cool breeze.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
