Lovely morning ....

3rd June 2025 (Tuesday)     08.15 .... After some overnight rain, we have a 'bright, breezy and

chillier' morning;  actually a braw fresh start to Tuesday.   There is some cloud around, rain isn't mentioned in the weather forecast.... but squally showers might blow through.   I'm going to Leven and Methil, Leven to do a shopping;  Methil to annoy Alice, who arrived home last night from a long weekend at Blackpool with her friend and neighbour, Fiona. 

16.00   The trip to Leven, and Methil, went perfectly:  both missions accomplished, and well ready for lunch back at Alice's;  a Sainsbury's cheese roll with trimmings, followed by a dry oatcake(?).  The 'dry oatcake' looked suspiciously like a chocolate eclair.   There's a good chance that the oatcake could be 'fake news'.   After a cup o' coffee, I bumbled my way back home.  

Yesterday's efforts in the garden caught up with me when after I got back to Ivy.  I have just woken up after a longish siesta.   Although the weather has been dry up till now, the sky is starting to look threatening.   On the way home I noticed showers on the 'Sooth side', and it wouldn't be surprising if showers come our way.    And .... it is cold.   No afternoon coffee outside  today.  

20.00   The top photo is of my, 17 months old Great Grandson Henry (Somerset);  without doubt he is going to be 'The Gaffer'.   The photo on the left is my other Great Grandson Sorley, 7 months, (Inverness) and already into keep fit.  Ye Gods;   I remember when I could do press ups!  If I managed to get down to do a press up now, I'd get more exercise trying get back up off the floor!    Getting down is easy enough.... gravity does that bit.  Suddenly I feel.... how do I put this?...older?   Yes ....That's how I feel.


It has been a breezy old day .... and cold with it;  and the day is ending with a bonnie evening.   But its still cold, so I ain't going down to the beach.    Tomorrow's weather is going to be much the same as today's; it might even be slightly colder.   It's rest day for me.  I have a tree I want to photograph;  in fact I might just do that first thing in the morning, before the roads get busy.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
