Clearing sky ....

 5th December 2024 (Thursday)    08.45 .... Everywhere is wet looking this morning, but the rain

we had overnight, has moved away and sunny spells are mentioned in our weather forecast.   There's a brisk Westerly wind and an interesting sky;  so, a nice enough day ahead, although light rain is forecast to move in late in the afternoon.   

16.00    This has been an eventful day for Alberto.   I decided to go to Leven to buy Charity Christmas cards, and that I'd pick up Alice from Methil, and we'd both go the shopping.   After a cuppa at the Alice HQ.   As is usual Leven High Street was busy but we found a parking place  just by Specsavers.    That was handy because Alice suggested I make an appointment to have my lug-oles tested.  This we did.   And got an appointment for an eye test at the same time.   The hearing appointment is next week, they had a space for the eye test this morning.... 20 minutes after making the appointment.    That gave us time to go to one of the Charity shops and buy the Christmas cards, before going back to Specsavers to have my eyes tested.   And that is what we did.   My eyes are healthy so I'm happy with that.   The new specs are more or less the same as the ones I have just now.   Normally I go to Govan in Anstruther, but getting the eye test today was perfect.

On leaving Specsavers we only had a short walk to the car:  unfortunately by this time a Yellow Parking ticket was on the windscreen.  This kinda spoilt our morning; it's my first parking ticket.   Anyway the fine (£30) has been paid and I have suggested they make the non parking places easier to recognise as such.   I don't expect to hear from them. 

We went up to Methil and had a cuppa before I bumbled my way back home to have a 'lite bite' lunch before going for a walk to the beach.   The sky was heavy and it looked like rain wasn't far away.

21.00   We had spell of rain earlier, but it's dry now, and tomorrow is forecast to in the morning dry but breezy;  then there's a Yellow Warning for rain, active from 15.00 tomorrow afternoon through to midday on Saturday.   And I have the dentist (Anstruther) in Friday.   Not much to look forward to, as far as the weather goes, for the next couple of days.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Lovely, fresh morning ....

6th August 2024 (Tuesday)    10.30 .... it's a beautiful morning, with a nice fresh breeze.... if only I Aldershot 1958. could go out on the bike!   Anyway... forget dreamin';  today is my appointment with the Consultant, at Queen Margaret Hospital (Dunfermline);.... and I'm hoping to find out what the 'plan' is.   Michael and Janice are out in the car.... shopping.   They should be back in about an hour or so.    I've tidied up the kitchen and will now have a cuppa while watching some of the action from Paris.  22.00    This is more like summer.... in fact I could get to like this weather.      Michael and Janice went up to Cupar in the morning, while I got myself organized  for the Queen Margaret appointment.   Michael and Janice arrived back with lunch, Fisher and Donaldson macaroni pies, with FD's for sweet.   We set off for Dunfermline in plenty of time and arrived with t...
