Dull and wet ....

17th December 2024 (Tuesday)    09.00 .... We have a bleak looking, and wet, start to the day;

I won't be going far today.   I have a small package to post and might venture 'somewhere' to do that;  but, it's one of those days when getting 'up' seemed pointless.   Anyway, 'Blob' has been fed, and didn't seemed bothered by the weather.   I'll have another cuppa and come up with some kind o' action plan.   Although dreich the sky did have a promising look about it when I was out at the bucket a minute ago.

12.00    The Post Office van is going to be in Elie tomorrow so I'll use that to post the small package.   I thought about going to the Pittenweem Post Office  this afternoon, but the parking at the Pittenweem PO is very limited;  and Pittenweem always seems to be busy nowadays.  Everywhere is busy nowadays!   I'll bung the parcel in the car and go up to Colinsburgh to fuel up the car, and, if  in the mood, I might just go to Leven.   There are a few Post Offices to chose from along at Levenmouth.   The actual Leven PO is another one with limited parking.

Meanwhile the weather continues to be miserable and damp.   However I'm happy having sorted out the cards etc.   I'll be able to get the living room back to normal.  At the moment I'm going to have some kind of food, then make my mind up about what I'm going to do after that.   Funnily enough I'm a 'happy boy' in spite of the weather.

16.45   I ended up having a 'lazy', but interesting, afternoon watching Guy Martin exploring China.   Luckily tomorrow is going to be a bonnier day, albeit windy;  I'll catch up with all the things I meant to do this afternoon!   It's the time of year for dismal days: luckily they are also short!    And it hasn't been a day for taking photographs so I'll have a browse later and find a couple of cheery ones!   Right now it's time to organise food;  tonight it's one of my home made favourites..... sausages and mash, with vegetables and gravy.   Flap on .... I'm droolin' writing about it!

21.30    I had a very enjoyable 'browse' through one of the bike runs I did up to Balcarres, when things were more colourful than they were today.   The top photo is St Ford railway bridge, the other two.... Balcarres Den.   I'm looking forward to doing that run again next year.   I have loads of 'bike run' photos to browse on dull days;  it's like doing the run again!   Funny thing is I can remember taking the photos..... and quickly forget the weather outside.

Tomorrow's weather?    'String winds with sunny intervals' is the forecast, I like the 'sunny intervals' bit,

but the strong winds will spoil a bonnie day.   Pity aboot that.   Anyway i's Horlicks time then orf to bed  to rea my book.   I must remember to go up to the mobile Post Office tomorrow to post the parcel.   I must also take time to do some e-mailing.   I got an email from Ian (Australia) three weeks ago and have yet to answer it.
