Windy and wet ....

30th December 2024 (Monday)    10.00 .... I decided to use a different shower gel this morning; 

The Episcopal kirk.
M & S Burgundy 'Woodspice' for Gentlemen!   A guid dollop o' that should get me fired up for the day; and, after the day I had yesterday, well I needed something 'different'.  And the Woodspice' was 'iggzactly'  that... 'different'.    I applied a dollop of gel to my hair;  my word... that was magic!   The next thing I knew my head was covered in, what felt like, a 6 inch layer of foam (nice smelling foam) down to my shoulders.  And...after having been under the shower rinsing the foam off, I was 'stood staunin' in six inches of foam!  I feel really refreshed, so I'm happy with the end result; but will use a smaller dollop'  tomorrow morning!  It's hard work bein' 'me'!

There's a brisk wind with rain blowing through now and again so not a bonnie morning;  and tomorrow is also going to be windy and wet;  the forecast for Tuesday being "strong winds with heavy rain". 

20.00    Although it has  been dull all day it hasn't always been raining, so I set went out for a 'leg stretcher'.... the 'planned' route was, up to the golf course to Rotten Row, the Library then onto the beach.   However when I got to the Library I decided to skip the beach par because it was too windy....  and my knee was sore, but nothing like as sore as it was yesterday!   I'm sure the weather has a lot to do with it.   It certainly seems to be worse during wet and damp weather.    I got a few photos to 'play' with, after making a cuppa!

Our weather forecast for tomorrow is 'Strong winds with light rin showers' which is slightly better than it had been.    The Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations have been cancelled so they must be expecting wilder weather tomorrow night.   

22.15   I'm hoping that tomorrow isn't as dreich as it is just now;  I was out at the bucket and had a up and down Ferry Road;  it's wet!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Lovely, fresh morning ....

6th August 2024 (Tuesday)    10.30 .... it's a beautiful morning, with a nice fresh breeze.... if only I Aldershot 1958. could go out on the bike!   Anyway... forget dreamin';  today is my appointment with the Consultant, at Queen Margaret Hospital (Dunfermline);.... and I'm hoping to find out what the 'plan' is.   Michael and Janice are out in the car.... shopping.   They should be back in about an hour or so.    I've tidied up the kitchen and will now have a cuppa while watching some of the action from Paris.  22.00    This is more like summer.... in fact I could get to like this weather.      Michael and Janice went up to Cupar in the morning, while I got myself organized  for the Queen Margaret appointment.   Michael and Janice arrived back with lunch, Fisher and Donaldson macaroni pies, with FD's for sweet.   We set off for Dunfermline in plenty of time and arrived with t...
