Bright and breezy ....
16th December 2024 (Monday) 09.45 .... It's a bonnie morning, in fact it could be a good
drying day, but there is the threat of showers later. Regardless of the showers, I have a washing going through the machine and have every intention of hanging it out on the line. I'm feeling brighter, and my throat is much better, but my voice is still rough.17.00 I have bene a busy boy today. After morning coffee I went up to Elie in the car to hand in the 'Rotary' cards at the 'paper shop', and bought other bits and pieces, and; came out without the paper (Courier). Anyway I wandered back to the car, took the above photo and decided to go for run in the car. I ended up at The Store in Ainster where I bought a few bits and pieces, before coming home by way of the Kellie Castle road. There wasn't much happening, even Arncroach was quiet; I'd gone that way for a change of scenery.
Back at Ivy I put the messages away, then the door bell rang; it was Derek (little brother) who had been at shops in Elie. The Chemist was 'Closed' for lunch so Derek came along to 'The Royal Burgh' for a breath of Royal air. (It's the same as the Elie air but with the flavour of a single malt about it). Now where was I?.... aye.... Derek and arrived, and volunteered to deliver the Colinsburgh, Erncroach and Leven cards when he was doing his. That leaves me with only the local ones to deliver over the next few days.
First thing this morning I phoned Specsavers and changed the date of my hearing test; it's now on the Wednesday 8th of January instead of Wednesday this week. The washing I hung out dried perfectly: the showers mentioned in the weather forecast could be seen going along the 'Sooth side' of the Firth. Actually they made an interesting sky but it was too cauld for me to venture down to the beach. So I took a few photos up at the phone box, when I went up to put George's bin back in the garden. It wisnae warm up at the golf course. I sometimes shelter in the phone box.... but it's cauld on the ankles in there!
